If you’re looking for a super sweet gift for Mother’s Day that’s also totally practical…this Mother’s Day Cutting Board project is for you! It’s crazy easy to make and totally looks polished enough to be store-bought. Of course, if a cutting board isn’t your mom’s thing, you could also grab the free file and resize it to perfectly fit any surface. I thought it would work especially well with a pretty planter or coffee mug. Whatever your surface choice, one thing is for certain…Home is, indeed, where your mom is!

This Mother’s Day Cutting Board tutorial contains affiliate links. The small percentage I may earn off your purchase comes at no extra cost to you and helps T&T continue to offer free printables, tutorials, and more!
The only supplies you need to make this Mother’s Day Cutting Board are permanent vinyl (I used Oracal 651 in Metallic Gold from Expressions Vinyl), a 12″ x 15″ glass cutting board, and the free cutting file below. This cutting board would be a great gift by itself but of course, you could pair it with a few other items (like a fancy knife!) for a larger gift. Tons of options!

Once you’ve used the free file to cut your desired color of vinyl (don’t forget to flip the image!), use transfer tape to adhere the words to the back of the cutting board. Press out bubbles with either a vinyl application tool or credit card. Remove transfer tape and puncture any large bubbles with the tip of your weeding tool or a straight pin. Press out bubbles again for a nice smooth finish!
And that’s it, you’re totally ready to gift this gorgeous Mother’s Day Cutting Board to that special woman in your life!
