This year’s most popular Thanksgiving hostess gift is wine! And with these free printable labels, you don’t have to break the bank to give a thoughtful present. These also make great gifts for teachers, neighbors, or co-workers! Just download and print off as many as you need – there’s no limit on how many you can have.

Giving the Gift of Thanksgiving Wine

I get it, turkey is great and all, but there’s one thing I love (and dread) more than anything else about Thanksgiving: family. The good news is that sometimes, the food (wine) can help distract from some of the awkwardness or unpleasantness of sitting around a table with relatives who you only see once a year.

But let’s be real: it’s not always easy to make conversation and avoid fighting with your brother-in-law over politics. And even if you’re trying to be civil for everyone else’s sake, it can still take a toll on you. So this year, why not give yourself the gift of wine?

Showing up with a bottle of wine with one of these funny Thanksgiving Wine Labels is not only courteous but, I’d say, essential too! You can also feel good about buying a bottle that you actually like because these funny wine labels are free!

I’ve designed four different funny Thanksgiving wine labels, each with a humorous twist on the holiday:

  • Happy Thanksgiving (Get your fat pants on!)
  • Eat, Drink, and Be Thankful (and then drink some more.)
  • This wine pairs well with turkey and family drama.
  • This wine is my dessert.

These funny wine labels are the perfect way to make your guests feel a little more at ease. There’s a Thanksgiving label for every wine lover and foodie out there, making it easy to find the perfect gift for people you love.

Printing Hints and Tricks

Before you go and print these funny Thanksgiving wine labels, there are a couple of things to keep in mind:

  • I’ve got the files split up on different pages so that you don’t have to print out all of the designs if you only need one. The final page of the document contains all of them in case you are using them all at one time.
  • The wine labels are all sized to fit a standard bottle of wine. Feel free to resize them either in an editing program or through your printer if you need smaller or larger measurements.
  • You can print on regular paper but make sure you’ve some sort of adhesive to apply it to the wine bottle. I’m a big fan of spray adhesive or strong double sided tape.
  • Another option would be to print directly on sticker paper. Love these sheets from Neato!
  • If you’re planning on storing the wine bottle in the fridge, you might want to protect the labels from condensation with clear vinyl.
  • I’m a huge fan of my Epson printer! I usually go with “Best” in the print setting for a project like this.

I hope you enjoy these funny Thanksgiving wine labels and make this year’s family get-together a little less stressful (and maybe even more fun for everyone!).

The opinions and text are all mine.

Torn between trying to decide which holiday to decorate for? No worries! This Reversible Halloween and Thanksgiving Cricut Vinyl Sign makes it super easy to flip from one to the other.

You guys know that I’m a huge fan of Halloween, right? That doesn’t mean I don’t love decorating for Thanksgiving though! I made this Reversible Halloween and Thanksgiving Cricut Vinyl Sign so that I could easily switch from one holiday to the other. Just flip the sign around, add a few props, and you’re good to go!

You Gotta Love Cricut During Halloween

I love using my Cricut Explore Air 2 all year long but it seems to be even more useful during my favorite holiday, Halloween! From t-shirts to decor, Cricut totally has my back when it comes to all things spooky. When I saw these awesome word art files over on Design Space, I just knew I wanted to turn them into XL Reversible Halloween & Thanksgiving Vinyl Signs.

Cricut Supplies You Need

Before we get into the tutorial, I wanted to talk a bit about the Cricut supplies you’ll need for this project. I wanted this sign to go on my porch so I quickly put together a farmhouse-inspired wood frame. Based on previous experience, I’ve found that Cricut’s Everyday Iron-On works great on most surfaces including wood. Check out their Strong Bond Guarantee if you don’t believe me! Because I wanted to use heat transfer vinyl, I pulled out my handy EasyPress. The large size was perfect for this project!

Supplies needed to make this Reversible Halloween and Thanksgiving Cricut Vinyl Sign:

Time needed: 3 hours.

Making a sign this big takes a good amount of time and supplies but it’s totally worth it in the end. Just imagine how much a sign this big would cost if you bought in in a store!

  1. Cut Trim

Measure the trim to fit the sides of the plywood square and cut.

  2. Stain Wood

Water down a bit of brown and white paint to “stain” the wood. I applied the paint with a paintbrush and used a rag to remove excess.

  3. Add Trim

Squeeze a line of wood glue to the edge of plywood. Place trim in place and secure with three nails. Repeat to all sides until done.

  4. Cut Vinyl

Cut and weed all your vinyl.

  5. Layout Vinyl

Pre-heat the wood by heating the EasyPress to 250 degrees and placing on wood for 15 seconds. Continue doing this until the entire surface has been heated. Place all the vinyl for the Halloween side centered on the wood frame.

  6. Iron On the Vinyl

Set the EasyPress to 300 degrees and place over vinyl for 40 seconds. This sounds like a super easy step but there may be some differences with your wood and environment that may force you to troubleshoot a bit.

  7. Remove Protective Sheet

Because of the wood texture, you may or may not have a difficult time removing the protective sheet. Portions of my vinyl didn’t stick so I had to do a bit of spot treatment (see below.)

  8. Difficult Sections

If you’re having problems with different sections of the design not sticking, I suggest heating those sections again (a smaller EasyPress is helpful) with the Iron-On Protective Sheet. As soon as the time is up, remove the protective sheet and gently press down on the trouble spots with a rag. This will help the adhesive stick to the uneven wood surface.

Ready for the Holidays

I’ve got to be honest, this Reversible Halloween & Thanksgiving Cricut Vinyl Sign took a good amount of time and supplies to complete but I’m so happy with the way it looks on my porch!

Skeleton sitting on bench in front of Reversible Halloween & Thanksgiving Cricut Vinyl Sign

Now, as soon as Halloween is done, all I have to do is flip the sign around and add a few pumpkin accessories and I’ll be instantly ready for Thanksgiving!

Thanksgiving Wall Art Free File https://www.triedandtrueblog.com/thanksgiving-wall-art-free-file/ https://www.triedandtrueblog.com/thanksgiving-wall-art-free-file/#comments Wed, 11 Oct 2017 14:05:54 +0000 https://www.triedandtrueblog.com/?p=13718 I don’t know about you guys but I sorta kinda love Thanksgiving. It hasn’t always been that way though. As a kid, it always felt as if Thanksgiving was just a rehearsal to Christmas, all the stress but without any fun gifts. Now that I’m an adult, I totally look forward to eating really good food with the people I love and then lounging on the couch while watching Home Alone (another family tradition I adore!) I made this Thanksgiving Wall Art Free File for the monthly Free Cut Files Blog Hop and hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

Making this really couldn’t be easier since you can just pull the free “Thanks and Giving” file I designed in Adobe Illustrator and apply to any surface you want. I had a small menu board I found in the dollar section at Target last year that I’d been dying to customize so the file is sized to fit it but you can always adjust the size when you pull the SVG file into your cutting program. I used 14k Gold Permanent Vinyl from Expressions Vinyl and my Cricut Explore Air 2 to cut. Both the vinyl and the machine cut the file without any issues.

Grab the Thanks & Giving Free Cut File HERE!

Thanks and Giving Free Cut File - CreateAfter weeding the cut vinyl, I used Transfer Paper to apply the words to the menu board. It was super easy to make sure it was centered since the board has a center line to use as a guide. Almost done!

Thanks and Giving Free Cut File - WeedA quick swipe with this handy vinyl application tool and I was done!

Thanks and Giving Free Cut File - TransferI absolutely love how the gold vinyl reflects the light in so many beautiful shades. I can’t wait to see how this Thanksgiving Wall Art Free File looks on our Thanksgiving table!

Fabric Napkin Bread Warmer https://www.triedandtrueblog.com/fabric-napkin-bread-warmer/ https://www.triedandtrueblog.com/fabric-napkin-bread-warmer/#comments Tue, 10 Nov 2015 13:51:54 +0000 https://www.triedandtrueblog.com/?p=10742
Use this free pattern to make a Fabric Napkin Bread Warmer. Perfect for family dinners and Thanksgiving!

There are few things quite so delicious as warm dinner rolls straight out of the oven, right? Steaming hot with butter oozing down the sides…Man, I’m making myself hungry! I thought I would make a super easy pattern to make those vintage bread napkins that your grandmother pulled out for special meals. You know, the ones that had half circles cut out of the sides? The concept to my Fabric Napkin Bread Warmer is exactly the same as hers but with a few modern updates!

Materials:

Fabric Napkin Bread Warmer - A Free Tried & True Pattern

Step One. Assemble supplies. I used fabric from the gorgeous new Little House on the Prairie Andover Fabrics Collection. The quality weight of the fabric worked perfectly for this project because it’ll withstand the inevitable multiple washings. Plus the vintage designs were just screaming to be made into something as quaint as a bread warmer!

Fabric Napkin Bread Warmer - Materials

Step Two. Fold the fabric in half and then in half again (quartered). Place the pattern into the corner and cut.

Fabric Napkin Bread Warmer - Pattern

Step Three. Repeat with both the lining and the Solarize material.

Fabric Napkin Bread Warmer - Cut

Step Four. Layer the fabric and lining with their right sides facing each other. Place the Solarize on the back of the lining and sew around the edge with a 1/4″ seam allowance. Make sure to leave a small opening to flip right side out.

Fabric Napkin Bread Warmer - Sew

Step Five. Using that small opening I just mentioned, turn the napkin right side out and press with iron to make nice sharp edges. Sew tightly around the edges, making sure to close up that small opening you used to turn right side out.

Fabric Napkin Bread Warmer - Ready

Full of Thanks

So, there you have it! This Fabric Napkin Bread Warmer is so super easy to make and looks just like your grandmother’s with the exception of the additional Solarize layer that will keep your rolls warm through the entire meal.

Fabric Napkin Bread Warmer - Yum!

Be Thankful Gratitude Calendar - A Tried & True Project

I almost forgot to share the Thanksgiving Gratitude Calendar I designed for Crafts Unleashed last year! Where are the weeks going? Since you just have to download and trace the free printable, there’s still plenty of time to make and enjoy before Thanksgiving! This post may contain affiliate links for your convenience and to assist in the maintenance of this site. Please refrain from using for commercial purposes.

Thanksgiving Gratitude Calendar

Materials:

Instructions:

1. Print off both Be Thankful Free Printables (Page 1 & Page 2).

Be Thankful Gratitude Calendar - Free printable

2. Place an appropriately sized piece of transfer paper in between chalkboard and printables (chalky side down!) and use a pencil to trace around the letters, numbers, and lines.

Be Thankful Gratitude Calendar - Trace letters

3. Remove papers and tape. Fill in any spots you may have missed with a pencil.

Be Thankful Gratitude Calendar - After transfer

4. Following the lines left by the transfer paper, use your white paint pen to carefully color in the image. Try to use the least amount of paint as possible, it’ll look better when you go to sandpaper the letters and lines.

5. Once the paint is completely dry, take your super fine sandpaper and gently go over everything. This is where the white paint magically turns into permanent chalk! I love this step.

Be Thankful Gratitude Calendar - Sandpaper
Be Thankful Gratitude Calendar - Hang in place!

And that’s it! Use either a piece of chalk or a chalk marker to fill in the Thanksgiving Gratitude Calendar with everything you have to be thankful for. I originally made this for Thanksgiving last year but we enjoyed it so much, it stayed up the entire year. Hope you enjoyed this tutorial!
