It’s easier than you think! All you need are a few items from the dollar store, some glue, and about an hour. Follow these steps below to create your very own winter wonderland in just minutes.

Hand holding a Mini Snow Globe Ornament.

There is almost nothing quite so timeless as a snow globe during the holiday season (Check out my DIY Recycled Snow Globe if you agree!) That’s why I love this miniature snow globe ornament craft so much. With so many different types of paper and glitter on the market, these ornaments are easy to customize and enjoy (I’ve also got an Easy Marble Christmas Ornament tutorial too!)

Perfect if you’re making these for your tree or others!

Ways to Use a Mini Snow Globe Ornament

  • Add it to a Christmas tree
  • Package it with other gifts as a decoration
  • Make one for each family member or friend
  • Attach it to the top of a gift bag (or even better, a Holiday Wine Gift Bag!)
  • Add in any other small trinkets you’d like!
  • Use it to celebrate a new home
  • Customize the look of the house
  • Add a gift card to a home store
Supplies including glitter cardstock, ornament, styrofoam ball, twine, and mini house die cut.

Supplies needed to make your snow globe ornament craft:

Use the die-cutting machine to cut the small house shape out of glitter paper. The paper is a bit thicker than usual, so I usually run it through twice. Use a weeding tool or any other pointed object to punch out the windows and door.

Hand assembling a pink glitter die cut house.

I tried multiple ways to assemble the little house, and a hot glue gun was the easiest by far! Just apply a bit of glue to one flap at a time (starting with walls) and press together until secure. I chose to attach an entire flat roof instead of the included shingle die cut. I just cut a rectangular piece out of silver paper and attached it to the glue gun. If you do not have a house die-cut, then a tiny house figurine or a simple paper cut house shape will work fine too.

Now that you’ve assembled the house let’s get started on the ornament section! Use a flat ruler or cutting machine scraper to slice the bottom 1/3 of the styrofoam ball. Apply hot glue to the lower back section and press in place on the ornament half. Make sure your hot glue gun is on the low setting, or you’ll melt the styrofoam ball too much.

Hand using a glue gun to adhere a sisel tree inside ornament.

Apply glue to the bottom of both the glittered house and mini tree and stick in place at the center of the styrofoam ball.

Pour an ample amount of glitter into the ornament. Apply glue to the other half of the styrofoam ball and close both sides of the ornament together. Hold in place long enough for the adhesive to harden completely.

Attach string and bow to the top of the ornament.

This mini snow globe ornament makes a great addition to your Christmas tree and can package it up with other small gifts. With just a few basic craft supplies, you can accomplish this project within an hour. I hope you have fun making one!

Making The Hot Chocolate Stirrers

You won’t believe how easy it is to make these hot chocolate stirrers! All you need is white melting chocolates, orange melting chocolates, a plastic spoon, and a food-safe marker.

To begin, use a sharp knife to carefully cut carrot-shaped pieces from the orange melting chocolates. Next, melt the white melting chocolates either in a microwave or double boiler. Dip the spoon in the white melting chocolates and set down on a level surface. Add “carrot” piece to the center of spoon and allow to harden.

Once the chocolate is hard, use the food-safe marker to make the round eyes and mouth pieces. Another option would be to cut these pieces out of black or brown melting chocolates if you can find them!

Gifts for neighbors or family friends can be difficult some times. You want to give them something that won’t go to waste but want to make it still meaningful and heartfelt. For the last few years, we’ve always defaulted to something edible.

This year we’re upping the ante with something edible in a container that can be used over and over again. I just love how easy it is to customize gifts with my Cricut Joy!

Let’s get the holiday craft season started!

Hand holding a glass jar with Cricut Joy and supplies in background.

Watch the video tutorial

Assembling the Jar

Putting together this Gingerbread Cookies In A Jar Holiday Gift is super easy and can be completed 100% on the Cricut Joy. There are three main elements to this gift: the jar, the gift tag, and the greeting card. You can choose whether to include one, two, or all three elements.

To make the reusable cookie jar, you can either use a 1 quart (32 oz) wide mouth mason jar or a glass container like I found at Target. I really liked how it had a blank space perfect for customizing with the minimal “cookie” definition file. I adjusted the file slightly to fit within the glass space.

Since our neighbors have five kids, I actually doubled the recipe and put it in a 2 qt jar. Don’t forget to adjust the recipe card if you decide to do the same!

You can find all the Design Space files I used HERE!

Using Cricut Smart Vinyl in my Joy meant that I didn’t have to take up more time with a mat.I just inserted the vinyl and the machine was cutting seconds later!

HINT: Take your time when weeding letters this small. It’s easy to lose a period or tittle (the dot in the letter “i”)!

Gingerbread Cookies in a Jar Holiday Gift

A great gift for a neighbor or family friends! All they have to do is add a few more ingredients and follow the instructions to make delicious cookies.
Total Time 15 minutes
Servings 1 Jar (makes 18 cookies)
Author Vanessa Brady
Cost $10

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp ground allspice
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp ground cloves
  • 2 tsp ground ginger
  • 1 cup brown sugar (packed)

Instructions

  • In a medium bowl, mix 2 cups of flour with baking powder and baking soda. Set aside.
  • In a separate medium bowl, mix 1 ½ cups of flour with spices. Set aside.
  • Begin assembling jar by layering the first flour mixture at the bottom. Use a spatula or large spoon to firmly press. Add the brown sugar as the next layer. Firmly press again. Lastly, layer the second flour mixture and press one more time.
  • Add the following directions to a gift tag: Gingerbread Cookies 1. Empty contents of jar into a large mixing bowl and stir together. 2. Mix in 1/2 cup softened butter or margarine, 3/4 cup molasses, and 1 slightly beaten egg. Cover, and refrigerate for 1 hour. 3. Preheat oven to 350° F (175° C). 4. Roll dough to 1/4 inch thick on a lightly floured surface. Cut into shapes with a cookie cutter. Place cookies on a lightly greased cookie sheet about 2 inches apart. 5. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes in preheated oven. 6. Decorate and enjoy!

Making the Recipe Card

Of course, I just had to make a cute instruction card to go along with this Gingerbread Cookies In A Jar Holiday Gift, right? To make it easier, I used shapes and fonts that were included in my Cricut Access plan.

I used the Cricut Joy to write the instructions on white cardstock and then swapped out the Cricut Joy fine point pen for the knife tool and cut out the tag shape. The Writable Kraft Paper made the perfect gingerbread man border.

You can find all the Design Space files I used HERE!

Hand holding a tag with instructions on how to use Gingerbread Cookies In A Jar Holiday Gift.

Last Minute Holiday Greeting Card

I am the absolute worst at remembering the card when gifting so the Cricut Joy Insert Card option is my favorite thing about this little machine. Lucky for me, they had a sweet card design that coordinates with the gift’s cookie theme!

You may notice that I’m using the same kraft paper for the insert card background. I just applied it to one of the cards included in the set and voila! Perfectly matched!

Hand holding a card cut with Cricut Joy that says, "Wishing You a very sweet holiday season."

The Perfectly Sweet Gift

Hope this project comes in handy this year for all your gifting needs! Even if they absolutely hate gingerbread cookies, they can still enjoy the cookie jar. Let me know if you make one on social media. Would love to see your creation!

I just love vintage pennant flags. What’s not to love about the classic color combinations and fonts from a bygone era?! I thought it would be fun to make a Christmas version that can be used for years to come.

Assembling the flag

This project is super easy and only takes about three steps to complete. First off, you’re going to need to assemble the supplies. I used just basic craft felt, Beacon Fabri-Tac, and a sheet of Iron-On Transfer Paper for Dark Fabrics from OnlineLabels.com.

Various colors of felt and a few sheets of Iron-On Transfer Paper for Dark Fabrics.

You can either download the “Believe” SVG file below or print out the PDF version from the OnlineLabels.com template library. Use the SVG file if you’re planning on using a digital cutting machine to cut the wording (Cricut is my favorite!)

Use the PDF file if you want to print and cut out the “Believe” wording by hand. By the way, don’t worry if the lettering isn’t perfect. Vintage pennant flags never were!

HINT: Don’t forget that you don’t have to mirror the image when cutting from Iron-On Transfer Paper for DARK fabrics.

Find the Free “Believe” Christmas Felt Pennant Flag PDF HERE!

Once you have the wording cut from the transfer paper, remove the backing and carefully place on a cut pennant flag. Cover flag with a protective fabric piece and apply heat with iron.

You can find full instructions for using the Iron-On Transfer Paper HERE!

Hand holding small iron over the a blue flag with "Believe" iron-on.

With the wording in place, cut a 2.75″ x 9″ strip of coordinating felt and glue to the side with Fabri-Tac. Cut two 7″ x .75″ pieces, fold in half, and adhere to back of pennant flag with glue.

Friendship Light Ornament Free Printable Tags https://www.triedandtrueblog.com/friendship-light-ornament-free-printable-tags/ https://www.triedandtrueblog.com/friendship-light-ornament-free-printable-tags/#comments Sat, 14 Nov 2020 20:57:00 +0000 https://www.triedandtrueblog.com/?p=18032 These Friendship Light Ornament Free Printable Tags make giving this cute gift a breeze! There are even two different tags to choose from depending on which style you like more. Great little gifts for classmates or friends!

Hand holding a glitter ornament with a white tag that explains the "Friendship Light Ornament."

One of my kid’s classmates gives little ornaments to the entire class every year. I’ve always thought it was such a cute tradition. We’ve got a handful of little ornaments that always remind us of friendship hanging on our tree!

I think these Friendship Light Ornaments would be the perfect little gift for your kids’ classmates and friends!

I’ve got two different ways to make these ornaments. Both are super easy to make so it all just depends on which look you like better and/or which one you have supplies on hand for.

Let’s get started!

Colorful Friendship Ornament Tag

I used a battery-powered lightbulb earring from Dollar Tree that I added string and the tag to. The whole project cost less than $1.00 and only took about 3 minutes to assemble.

If you’re interested in making a large amount of these as gifts, I highly suggest using these perforated tag labels. They come 12 to a page and since they’re already perfectly perforated, you don’t even need scissors!

Hand holding a battery powered green Christmas light with a Light of Friendship tag.

Simple & Elegant Friendship Light Ornament

If you’re looking for a gift tag that is a bit more elegant, I’ve got another design that’s perfect for you! The tag has the exact same poem but the design is a bit more suited for adults.

I made this pretty glittered ornament by just squeezing a bit of spray adhesive into a clear ornament and pouring in a good amount of glitter. So easy to make and dries fairly fast!

I used these clear lightbulb-shaped ornaments from Dollar Tree. They’re inexpensive and super cute!

Two glittered ornaments on a pink background with supplies.

To add a bit more glam to the “Light of Friendship” printable, I used a laser printer and a Glaminator to make the words and border silver. Totally optional but I love how it really makes the words pop!

Assembling the Gingerbread Gift Box

Before we assemble, let’s talk about paper and printing really fast. Since this gift box has to hold it’s own shape, you’re going to want to print on thick cardstock. I’ve used Springhill White Cardstock for years because it’s nice and thick but won’t clog my printer.

And speaking of printers…

I always get tons of questions on what printer I use. I updated my printer to an Epson Expression Premium XP-6000 and I’ve been really happy with the quality. Regardless of your printer, I highly suggest changing the quality setting to “high” when printing this gift box so you don’t have any lines or streaking.

Once you’ve printed and cut out the Gingerbread House Gift Box Free Printable, use a boning tool and ruler to create folds in paper. You can also use an empty ball point pen or any other blunt object if you don’t have a boning tool!

Now that the gift box is ready to assemble, all you have to do is add some strong double-sided tape to the tabs and fold together. Make sure the tape is really adhesive so that your box doesn’t fall apart!

The Season for Gifting

Now that you’ve assembled the gift box, it’s time to fill it! As I mentioned above, there are so many different ways you could use this box for gifting. Just look at all the adorable toys and candy from Oriental Trading Co. that I was able to fit in mine!
